Centre for IT Solutions

About the Centre

The Centre for IT Solutions was established with the vision of uplifting the computerization of various administrative and academic processes at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. It serves as the primary technology hub of the University, providing a broad spectrum of IT-related services including Software Development, Consultancy Services, and Website Designing & Management, with the overarching goal of enhancing institutional efficiency and transparency.

The Centre extends its services not only to the various teaching and administrative departments within the University campus but also to external organizations and government agencies. Its dedicated team of technical professionals is primarily engaged in the development and maintenance of web-based software applications, and has played a pivotal role in integrating these applications across the University's digital infrastructure, in close collaboration with IT professionals from various departments.

The Centre houses three well-equipped computer laboratories fitted with desirable configurations of both hardware and software. These laboratories serve multiple purposes: they function as practical training spaces for students enrolled in the Centre's own courses, host examination sessions for affiliated departments, and are made available to outside organizations for conducting online recruitment and placement tests as required.

The staff of the Centre is also responsible for the maintenance of the University's official websites, ensuring they remain current, functional, and accessible to students, faculty, and the general public. Additionally, the Centre operates an Internet Cell and a Hardware Cell, which provide technical support for internet connectivity and hardware repair and maintenance across teaching departments and administrative offices of the main campus, including the upkeep of boom barriers installed on University premises.
