On behalf of all our faculty, staff and students, welcome to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

The office of the Nodal Officer for Socio-economically Disadvantaged Group Cell (SEDG) is intended to facilitate the overall welfare of the students, staff and faculty belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS community. The University is committed to ensure due compliance of the orders of reservation issued by Indian Government and State Government from time to time.

The university works to create a living and working environment where all students and employees feel safe and respected. The office of Nodal Officer for Socio-economically Disadvantaged Group Cell (SEDG) provides comprehensive and proactive services to all students and the employees belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS community. The goal of office is to enhance the psychological well-being of SC/ST/OBC/EWS persons so that they can take full advantage of all affirmative policies of the government.

About SEDG Cell

This Socio-economically Disadvantaged Group Cell (SEDG) for (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) has been constituted in the university as per the directions of Indian Government and University Grants Commission to resolve all the affairs and problems related to the SC/ST/OBC/EWS officers, employees (Teaching and Non-Teaching), and the students of the university. The office of Nodal Officer ensures that the complaints (in writing) of caste-based discrimination from SC/ST/OBC/EWS employees and students are registered and addressed to the concerned authority, so as to get them resolved in minimum time and in efficient manner.
