Science Club named as 'SciRox' is the student-led science outreach club at
Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, which is primarily meant to foster and inculcate critical
thinking, creativity, interest and passion for science among students by providing them hands-on
learning experiences beyond the classroom learning.
This club also aims to keep the students updated on scientific advancements, promote teamwork
and to develop scientific skills and attitudes. It aims to ignite curiosity, enhance scientific
literacy, and make science accessible to students and the wider community through hands-on
activities, events and digital platforms.

Club Structure & Operations
The students organize, at their own, all the events including hands-on explorations and
awareness programmes. The club has a core committee with one Convenor to organize and
supervise all club activities as well as to prepare the academic calendar for celebration
of important days like National Science Day (NSD) and National Mathematics Day (NMD).
Apart from organizing competitions, quiz, and scientific programmes, members of SciRox
participate in different seminars, workshops and symposia organized by various local
Governmental agencies as well as NGOs and volunteer to assure smooth functioning of events.
This provides them a very good platform for learning to handle co-curricular and
extracurricular activities.
